Binondo Food Trip Budget: Plan Your Meals and Transport

Plan your Binondo food trip budget by keeping money for the trip home first. Then work out what is left for food and other stops. Your costs depend on where you start, what you order and where you go. Leave room in your plan for changes to travel, meals and entry fees.

Build the budget before choosing the stops

Write down four amounts: travel there and back, food and drinks, entry fees for optional stops, and spare money. What is left after travel, entry fees and spare money is your food budget. Keep the spare money until you are on your way home.

Choose your main aim: a sit-down meal, small tastings or a heritage visit. Start with one main meal and one optional food stop. Add another only after checking its price and what you have left. Sharing lets you try more dishes. Check the portion size and how many people will share it. A menu price may cover more than one person.

Choose your arrival point and return route

LRT-2 runs between Antipolo and Recto. See the Light Rail Transit Authority's route information. Chinatown Museum's directions list Recto as a way to reach Lucky Chinatown. From there, they suggest walking or taking a Divisoria-bound jeepney. Check the museum's access guide.

Check the LRTA fare information and service updates for your travel date. Count the cost of reaching the train, travelling from the station and going home. Ask about the jeepney fare before you board. Your travel budget needs to cover the route you take.

Save your route home before you leave. If anyone in your group cannot manage the walk from your arrival point, check the cost of another ride. Do this before you set the food budget.

Decide whether to include Chinatown Museum

The museum lists its address as the fourth floor, North Wing of Lucky Chinatown, on Reina Regente Street in Binondo. Its published regular entry fee is ₱150. Normal opening hours are Tuesday to Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. It closes on Mondays and the holidays listed on its site, including November 1. Check the official visitor page for fees, hours and closures before you go.

Budget for entry on its own. If you add the museum after planning your meals, cut another optional cost. Keep your money for the trip home.

Check each food stop before ordering

Pick the exact branch before you plan the order of your stops. Check its official menu and opening details. Ask these questions when you order:

  • Is the price for one serving, a set or a shared portion?
  • Does it include drinks and any extra charges?
  • Is the dish available today? Can the kitchen meet your dietary needs?
  • Does it fit your remaining food budget?

For coupons, browse B-ticket's Manila deals. Check the branch and each offer's terms. A Manila listing does not mean the offer is in Binondo. Read the B-ticket FAQ for general redemption guidance.

Keep the plan flexible on the day

Check the weather and travel updates before you leave. Keep one stop optional. A queue, an unavailable dish or an extra ride could change your costs. Write down what you spend to help plan a later visit. Compare your estimate with your own costs before using it again.
